2010 SUMMER CALENDAR
 
Weekly Day Trips & Lower School Themes
(Field Trips are subject to change.)
 
Week 1: June 28 – July 2
Lower School Theme: I LOVE AMERICA WEEK
Our young patriots will make a large American flag from cupcakes decorated in red, white and blue
and participate in history lessons about Independence Day. Lower School Day Trips include Preschool
(age 2 - 3) – Planet Jump; Beginner 1& Beginner 2 (age 4 - 6) – Fire Station tour;
 Form 1 &Form 2 (age 6 - 8) – Ft. DeSoto Beach/Cookout and Independence Day activities. Form One will also do weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 & Form 4 (age 8 - 11) – Adventure Island Water Park; Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Hillsborough
River canoe trip.
Thursday is Red, White and Blue Clothes Day.
 
Week 2: July 5 – July 9
Lower School Theme: OLYMPICS WEEK
This is the week where our young Olympians show off their athletic skills. There will be potato sack races, three legged races and much more. Lower School Day Trips include Preschool (age 2 - 3) – Clearwater Aquarium; Beginner 1 & Beginner 2 (age 4 - 6) – The Pirates Loft and swim lessons; Form 1 & Form 2 (age 6 - 8) – Ice Skating and Olympics in school. Form One will also do weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 & Form 4 (age 8 - 11) – Ft. DeSoto Beach; Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Museum of Fine Art.
Friday is Funny Hat Day.
 
Week 3: July 12 – July 16
Lower School Theme: CIRCUS WEEK
The circus comes to Delphi when students learn about the history of the circus and the different kinds of circuses. A trip to the Ringling Museum completes the week.   Lower School Day Trips include Preschool (age 2 - 3) – A Clown Comes to School; Beginner 1 & Beginner 2 (age 4 - 5) – Swim lessons and A Clown Comes to School; Form 1 & Form 2 (age 6 - 8) – Ringling Brothers Museum and a Circus Comes to School. Form One will also do weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 & Form 4 (age 8 - 11) – Bowling/Movie; Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Adventure Island Water Park.
Friday is Favorite T-shirt Day.
 

Week 4: July 19 – July 23
Lower School Theme: SUPER HERO WEEK
The children will be creating their own super heros. Lower School Day
Trips include Preschool (age 2 - 3) – Library and the park; Beginner 1 &
Beginner 2 (age 4 - 6) – Swim lessons and Cinema Cafe; Form 1 & Form 2
(age 6 - 8) – Comic Bookstore and Super Hero Day. Form One will also do
weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 (age 8 - 9) – Museum of Science and Industry; Form 4 (age 9 - 11) & Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Ginnie Springs Overnight Trip.
Friday is Wild Hair Day.
 
Week 5: July 26 – July 30
Lower School Theme: COOKING WEEK
Young chefs rule when students learn the basics of cooking and make and
share their own edible creations. Lower School Day Trips include
Preschool (age 2 - 3) – A chef comes to school; Beginner 1 & Beginner 2
(age 4 - 6) – Swim lessons and a chef comes to school; Form 1 & Form 2  
(age 6 - 8) – Macaroni Grill Restaurant and Lower School Feast. Form One
will also do weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 & Form 4 (age 8 - 11) – Swimming and party. Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Big Cat Rescue.
Friday is Make a New T-shirt Day.
 
Week 6: August 2 – August 6
Lower School Theme: PIRATE WEEK
A Buccaneer Scavenger Hunt as well as pirate history will make this week
special for every young Captain Jack in your family. Lower School Day
Trips include Preschool (age 2 - 3) – Pirates come to school; Beginner 1
& Beginner 2 (age 4 - 6) – Swim Lessons and Pirate Ship; Form 1 & Form
(age 6 - 8) – Coast Guard, Highland Aquatic Center and in-school Treasure
Hunt. Form One will also do weekly swim lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 (age 8 - 9) & Form 4 (age 9 - 11) – Marine Lab at Key Largo overnight trip (additional fee)
Middle School (age 11 - 14) – Bowling
Friday is Mismatched Shoes Day.
 
Week 7: August 9 – August 13
Lower School Theme: NATIVE AMERICAN WEEK
The children will be playing fun Native American themed games. Lower
School Day Trips include Preschool (age 2 - 3) – Hands On Planet Earth;
Beginner 1 & Beginner 2 (age 4 - 6) – Swim Lessons and Native American
presentation in the library; Form 1 & Form 2 (age 6 - 8) – Phillipe Park,
Weeki Wachee and Planet Jump. Form One will also do weekly swim
lessons.
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 (age 8 - 9) & Form 4 (age 9 - 11) – Weeki Wachee; Middle School
(age 11 - 14) – Tennessee Adventure (four day trip, additional fee).
Friday is Mismatched Shoes Day.
 
Week 8: August 16 – August 20
Lower School Theme: SPACE WEEK
The children will become astronaut explorers and see the stars and some will
adventure to Space Camp. Lower School Day Trips include Preschool (age
2 - 3) – Petting Zoo comes to school; Beginner 1, Beginner 2 & Form 1 (age
4 - 7) – Planet Jump Form 2 (age 7 - 8) – Kennedy Space Center Three-Day
Trip (additional fee)
 
Elementary & Middle School Day Trips
Form 3 & Form 4 (age 9 - 11) – Suncoast Primate Sanctuary; Middle School
(age 11 - 14) – Coast Guard tour.
